Guacamole & Pita Chips Recipe

Pita Chips

  • 8 wholemeal pita bread
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Garlic salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 3 pinches of basil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Cut pita bread into eight triangles and pull each piece in half to make bread thin like a chip.

Mix olive oil, garlic salt, pepper, and basil in a bowl.

Brush olive oil mixture over both sides of each pita slice. Lay flat on baking sheet.

Bake for 5-7 minutes or until golden.guacamole



  • 5 ripe, large avocados, peeled and seeded
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 bunch cilantro (coriander)
  • 2 limes, freshly squeezed
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • Black pepper to taste

Spoon avocados in a large bowl. Squeeze one lime to coat the avocados. Mash together.

Add salt, cumin, cayenne and garlic.
Fold in the tomatoes, onion, and cilantro.

Squeeze second lime into mixture.
Let sit at room temperature and then serve.

Serve with pita chips.
